Pixar Shockingly Snubbed By Golden Globes For First Time. Read More »
Now they know how Disney felt when Tangled was snubbed by the Oscars. Strange how no one batted an eye at that as much as this. It just goes to show how biased people are when it comes to Pixar. When normal Disney animation or some other studio loses, no one cares, but when Pixar loses, it’s a shocking controversy. Can you honestly say that this doesn’t sound a little one-sided? I don’t think so.
Oddly enough, there’s a quote from Mike in Monsters University, where he’s berating Sulley over saying that he understands his problems, that I think sums up Pixar’s situation pretty well:
"You do not know how I feel. Monsters like you have everything. You don’t have to be good, you can mess up over and over again and the whole world still loves you. You’ll never know what it’s like to fail because you were born a Sullivan!"
That moment can easily be compared to what’s going on here, with Pixar being Sully and any other studio being Mike. No matter what Pixar does, people still love them and give them everything. Meanwhile, even though other studios try their hearts out, they just can’t get the same amount of love. It’s a sad truth that I wish more people could see.
Pixar simply can’t be on top forever. People not only have to accept that and be okay with their films losing awards every now and then, but they also need to give some love and attention to other studios.
While I myself was surprised, it doesn’t really bother me that it got left out. Frozen, by a nose, managed to nab the top spot on my list when it came to ranking the animated films that came out this year. Yeah I loved Monsters University, but my absolute favorite got on the Golden Globe list, and that’s good enough for me.
In regards to Tangled & the Oscars: while I’ve always felt the film was a wee bit overrated, I agree a nomination was justified. I mean, would it have really killed the AMPAS to set it up where 4 films are the minimum up for the award and 5 the maximum? I understand it’s because of how many films are submitted, but years where only 3 animated films are nominated has always struck me as ridiculous.
This may be the most frightening thing I’ve ever seen
but then again, its kind like putting a meat suit on and telling a shark not to eat you
We (men) are not fucking sharks!
We are not rabid animals living off of pure instinct
We are capable of rational thinking and understanding.
Just because someone is cooking food doesn’t mean you’re entitled to eat it.
Just because a banker is counting money doesn’t mean you’re being given free money.
Just because a person is naked doesn’t mean you’re entitled to fuck them.
You are not entitled to someone else’s body just because it’s exposed.
What is so fucking difficult about this concept?
How can you not reblog something like this
Thunderfoot has a great video on this, that you should make yourself less of a prone to be a victim. So her doing this is making herself more prone to be a victim.
My question to you is, do you follow this logic into other areas of your life? Do your lock your doors? Do you look both ways before crossing the street?
aw shit get it wednesday
HA! I almost forgot to reblog this today
Every Wednesday from now on.

The GOP has a plan to stop Wendy Davis: blatant voter suppression.
Women don’t like having their bodies policed, and are supporting Davis like no Democrat has been backed before. But Republicans aren’t fighting back on the issues — they’ve pushed through a Voter ID law that blocks the votes of countless Texas women.
Starting this November, Texans must show a photo ID with their up-to-date legal name instead of IDs like a birth certificate. That’s not a problem for single or married men — but it leaves a third of Texas women scrambling in a state with just 81 DMVs in its 254 counties.
The only way the GOP can keep Texas is by rigging the game. Women have the power to turn this state blue for the first time in two decades, but we need to help secure their rights first. Please, join us in calling on the Texas legislature to get rid of this unconstitutional Voter ID law and stop trying to strip women of their votes.

I can put Frozen ahead of The Little Mermaid, as I find that one to be a wee bit overrated, but I can’t see myself putting it on the level of The Lion King & Beauty and the Beast. Having said that, it, to me, was closer to reaching that level than Tangled was, so kudos to Frozen in that respect.
